The Blue Painter, 2026
This piece was initially created for myself. I have always felt deeply calm in front of large blue paintings, as if my restless thoughts and anxiety slowly dissolve. Blue became the color that most clearly held that feeling to me.
It also draws from a holiday in southern Italy, where I spent time by the beach sunbathing, reading, and drawing. By imagining myself from two perspectives, I created the basis for this abstract figurative composition. In the end, both the combination of colours and the composition, the painting brought me the calmness I have been seeking.
